Operation Santa is a charity drive we do every year, benefiting Parsons State Hospital and Training Center. Operation Santa was started by the legendary (and big hearted) radio personality Dan Willis on 860 AM KKOW. Now involving both our KKOW AM & FM stations, with the help of our partners David Neihart and GN Bank. We ask for donations to help bring Christmas to the residents of Parsons State Hospital.
December 10th from 11am to 1pm, we’ll be doing our annual live broadcast from the Northwest corner of the square in downtown Girard, Kansas. Last year we raised $4,100 which was the biggest year we’ve ever had! Thank you to everyone who came out in 2018! We hope you’ll find it in your heart to stop by and donate to Operation Santa this year on December 10th, 2019. David Neihart has been known to give special gifts of his own to those who make monetary donations!
Every dollar raised for Operation Santa goes toward buying a gift off of a resident’s wish list this Christmas. Some are lacking any family ties and it makes them so happy to have a gift to open on Christmas morning.
The PSHTC’s mission is to improve lives by connecting people with supports and services. The Hospital is certified by the Kansas Hospital Association as a special Mental Hospital and by the State Department of Education as a Special Purpose School. Residents age from 6 years old up to 70 years old. The vision of the training center is for people to be experiencing the highest quality of life regardless of their challenges. We can help by ensuring each resident gets something from their wish list on Christmas morning.
Thanks for your generosity! Can’t wait to see you during Operation Santa 11am to 1pm on the NW corner of the square in Girard, Kansas.
