According to the Chinese Zodiac, the rat is the first of all zodiac animals and it is the animal assigned to 2020. Other years designated with the rat include: 1924, 1936, 1948, 1960, 1972, 1984, 1996, and 2008. Were you born in any of those years? Each one has special personality and characteristic meaning.

Rats are clever, quick thinkers; successful, but content with living a quiet and peaceful life. In Chinese culture, rats were seen as a sign of wealth and surplus.

In the Chinese philosophy of Yin and Yang, the rat is yang and “represents a new day.” We hope you enjoy each day of this new year!

The official celebration of the Chinese New Year for 2020 is going to be January 25th, 2020. Learn more on the history of the Chinese Zodiac on the Chinese New Year website.
